Microsoft brought in the big guns for Kinect: Star Wars. These are the original “costumes” from Lucasfilm on loan to promote the game.

SSX coming back to the 360 is one of the things that excites me most so far at PAX. This series was my favorite when the games were current and I’ve often wished that someone would resurrect it for the new consoles. While I did put hands on the game in a pre-alpha state, the feeling of classic SSX came through easily with insane tricks and the ability to aerial off just about anything. This one is a definite buy for me if for no other reason than nostalgia.

Got to the theatre an hour and a half before Wil Wheaton’s awesome hour and this is what the line looks like already. I should get in without too much trouble, but it goes to show how much PAX loves Wil.

Just arrived at PAX Prime and waiting in line for our bags. First impression? Firefall has a HUGE presence at the con with a Halo Reach-esque sculpture in the center of things. I heard last year’s Halo sculpture cost around $360,000 to produce, so Firefall seems to want to make a splash this year. I know it’s playable on the exhibit floor so I will put hands on and see if last year’s hype holds up.

This is the other offering available from Mantic, Dwarf Kings Hold. It’s a very quick and very fun dungeon skirmish. I did a demo in about 20 minutes and that included learning the rules. Of course the game has many scenarios and with a modular board it offers loads of replay opportunity. Best thing is that the minis included in this game are the same as for Kings of War so you can use them to augment your armies.
